Okay. Let me explain.. or try atleast.

Finland is a very racistic country. It has always been very closed to foreign people.
Finland is one of the countries that got "sivilized" the latest. They were ruled by Sweden, and then by Russia. Before that Finland and its people were pretty much brutes living on fishing and berries all the way up to about year 1350. It was always separate from the rest of the world. T´here was no trading, nothing.
Eventually after Sweden got interested in the land, they started using the local population as cheap workforce. In exchange cities were build and the swedish language taught to the people. Before that there was no written language in Finland.

All this caused finnish people to become very short-viewed towards the rest of the world. They only knew about themselves and sweeds... and they didn't really care to know more.
They were proud for being what they are, and when they finally started meeting people from outside, and noticed that they have a culture and sivilisation way more diverse than theirs, they didn't like it.
They developed a though that Finland and its people are somewhat above, and that they should keep this land for finns, and not let outsiders in to mess it all up.

Ofcourse though, eventually finland had to open itself to other people becaus it could not compete in ever evolving world by being closed from it. Basicly, they realised that their too stupid to survive on their own.
While under the influense of Russia and its educated people, finlands educational system evolved pretty well and the way the goverment worked was quite good.

Finland has been very calm land throughout its whole history.. Pretty much the only conflicts it has had was with the russians.
So.. after the effects of WW I and II and the damage it did to the rest of the Europe, people saw interest in finland and its non-damaged goverment.
People were interested in studying in finnish schools, and finland realised that they need foreign influense to evolve, so they gradually opened their doors to the rest of the world.

And from that very moment finnish people started hating foreigners, becaus they were given almost a better chanse for work and education that the finns themselves had.
Ofcourse over the years to this time Finland has changed a lot. Nowadays it has a very open political, educational and financial connection with the rest of the world, but still, very few foreigners set their foot in here.
Also the way finns think about foreigners has changed. Especially with the new generation of people after the 1980 has finland became more open.
Even with the changes though, finland was like that for a very long time, and the elder people of these days are still very non-friendly towards foreigners, and ofcourse, it has inevitably affected how their kids think of things.

Even now that people in finland interract quite a bit with outside-world, they still love them selves over everything. As soon as their back with their 'own people' they start talking so much crap behind the backs of foreigners. Its just a part of their nature installed in them through their parents, their grand parents and the way finnish school teaches history.

Also one thing that these days makes finnish people dislike foreigners is the fact that after the conflicts in Europe, finland was litterally swarmed by people fleeing war and bad economical situation. Mostly people from places like Bosnia, Bulgaria, Estonia and many others ex-Soviet Union countries.
Those people came here, and finland didn't really know what to do.
Most were turned back, but those who did get to stay, were left pretty much unemployed. They were very unhappy with what they came to realise, but still they prefered this over living under thread of a bomb falling on ur roof.
With that dissappointment and poor situation came the complaining, robbing stores etc etc..
Instantly people developed a picture that these who came here are bad people, who just steal and don't work to earn their own. Many finnish gangs kept physically harming those people and their property.
There was fighting all the time, and it just developed a two-sided hatred.

And then.. came the conflicts in Africa.. mostly Somalia, and then the Middle East, and another swarm of people came to finland. Somalians and arabs/muslims.
And same repeated. They didnt get what they were hoping to, so frustration made people do bad things, and finns responded to that with hatred and disgust towards foreginers.
Now its just something you see everywhere.

Also, finnish people are emotionally very, very dull. They find it really hard to express emotions, and when they do it, its almost scary.
Now I can't really say for sure why is it like that, but it is. Ofcourse, it doesn't apply to all people in here, but the huge majority, yes.

I myself am not a finn, though I have lived here most of my life.
Now I am on my second year of high school and its pretty fine.
During the first 6 years of school though it was terrible..
I was being called a nigga, an arab and what not. Being bullied by groups of stupid kids etc... I was often in fights etc.. Reason why it was that bad then was that at such age kids just do what they see the older people do.
They hear their parents talk crap about foreigners and they do the same.

So.. across these 13+ years I've lived in this country, I have got hardly any friends. Those with whom I talk I cannot really call friends. That is becaus I can't be myself in their company.
I have one really good friend and hes not finnish.
Thats pretty much it. Im extremely bored in here. I feel trapped.
Every time I travel abroad, I meet so many great people.. It soooo easy to get along with people..but when I return, its back to the same old.
It has gotten even worse within last 3 years.. Thats probably becaus during that time Ive traveled twise to Ukraine, twise to Cuba, once to Holland and four times to Spain. Gosh did I love the people from those places.. such energy.. happyness, party, humor.. everything.
I just don't enjoy being around finnish people and certainly don't plan to live here for a long time.

I hope this somehow cleared out the reasons for my attitude towards living here, to you.

The literal definition of a sod is a small mound of earth but in the Uk we use it to describe people whome we think are being complete morons. Most of the time this is actually friendly, I'll usually put a little smiley afterwards so people get my tone.
If I want to insult someone, they'll usually know about it, as many people in this forum have found out

hmmm things that make me happy..

Well when I was 15 I met a girl(also 15)...Ok let me clear this up first.. I'm a guy. Mistress is my name because.. well bob got drunk one night and started callin me it.. so it stuck. DO 7 years later.. I'm still Mistress and Develion is my actual last name.. but anyway back on topic

I met a girl. I was a year off the boat (or plane your choice, I';m from scotland) and was at the time living in Boston, Massachusetts. I was cruisin boston on my skateboard and about ran her over.. hopin off and takin of my headphones I apologized. She .. well lokked kinda scared.. I had about shoulder length red (like natural red not dyed) dreds and half inch plugs in my ears a 6 guage septum ring and my lip pierced three times. After assuring her I wasnt about to steal her wallet. I asked if she wanted perhaps some coffee. She accepted and ended up having coffee seeing a movie and later having dinner with me.

I come to find through the course of the day she is from Oklahoma. and will be going home tommorow (>.<) We spend the day and most of the night sitting at boston harbor talking.(by the aquarium) I took her back to her hotel . and said goodnight..

I hadent heard from her. at all

at the age of 20, i found myself in a relationship that took me to Tulsa Oklahoma. I will admit I had forgoten the girl of which I had spent a day talking with..

well after a year the relationship that took me here turned and we split.. One day while cruising Wal-mart (food shopping) and also purchaisng guildwars (yay irony) Now mind you My appearance save for me thinning out a bit and growing taller hasnt changed. still dreds still pierced but now with tattoos. I saw a girl.. who kept sneakin glances at me.. I thought ok.. my flys down.. or i have somthing on me.. finally being a bit sick of it I walked over to her and asked.. If I could help her.. in a less than polite tone.

She giggled. I get this alot with a Scottish accent in Oklahoma.. which gets thick when aggitated. She looked at me SMiled and called me something I haddent been called in 6.5 years.. A git. o.0 I was like excuse me.. she said if i didint remember .. then she would just fly back to boston and wait for me too... I couldnt believe it. it was her. Now more mature and hopefully smarter I asked her out.. she said yes.. it progressed,.. we got married and I am now happy to announce ( yes after all that finally the point) I am going to be a father.. ^_^ this is what makes me happy

this thread confused me.... a topic about saying mushy things on a forum.. feel free to call me heartless but thats just plain weird....

I live for one reason and only one reason, to find tal's armor, if i find that i will die happy.... i don't like much, and i hate a lot of things.

Love is overrated, most people see it as fancy dinners and expencive gifts when really its not.. if such is true then people do not fall in love with a person, but instead with his/her wallet.

People suck, not everyone, but most people do. Society has taken a huge nose dive and children are becoming corrupt at a young age and feel like they can say what they want and do what they want.

Cells phones are out of control, im sick of seeing every tom, dick, and harry walking around with them acting like they are so important they don't have to turn it off in public buildings such as schools and resturants.

Inflation is total BS, people are getting poorer and poorer and yet prices still seem to rise.

Once again, people suck, i remember a better time when people were not total morons who think they are cool because their pants are around their knees and they still have the ability to walk straight.

Reality TV needs to stfu, im not sure about everyone else but i watch tv to ESCAPE reality, not watch some dude try to cook a rat on some island thats actualy located in a LA studio

The teachers at my school are needy little children, going on stike is illegal but the moronic charter of rights says they are aloud to protest which means i miss an unknown amount of school right now... sounds good right?.. WRONG, when i get back i get pounded with all the work i missed at the same time we get the work we would normaly get that day, which is not fun when your in grade 12....

Valentines day is a crock, why make have one day where your suppost to show that "special someone" how much you love them... i don't know about you guys but last time i checked your suppost to do that everyday... this is just a government scam to get more money

Slurpees from 711 are nice

Classic Rock music is great... but only when im in a good mood, when im not nothing beats some anti-government music from anti-flag or some anti-everything music from toxic narcotic
